Our junior club serves to prepare girls for their netball future at senior level.

Beginning at U11s, we teach the foundations of good netball technique, and reinforce this with an introduction to competitive match play in the Oxfordshire Junior Netball League. The girls are encouraged to try a variety of positions to create a well-rounded understanding of netball.

At U13s, we expand on this foundation, introducing technical game play and a move towards a position specialism. Match play becomes more competitive, with team selection more focused on ability. Talented athletes are encouraged to work towards county trials, however the environment for all players remains fun and fair.

Through U15s, players are encouraged to expand their tactical knowledge through the introduction of set-plays and positional combinations. There is an emphasis on independence and personal-growth as the athletes begin their transition towards senior selection. Match play becomes more competitive as the girls apply their knowledge and practice of the game. Talented athletes once again have the opportunity to enter county trials.

At U17 level, players may be invited to join the senior club, which provides a higher intensity of training and match play. Those that remain at junior level have the opportunity to expand their netball knowledge through umpiring and coaching courses, as well as volunteering opportunities with the younger age groups. Training begins to focus on the girls’ transition to the senior club and their netball futures.

Ending their junior journey at U19 level, players will now be fully integrated into the senior club through training and match play in the Oxfordshire Netball League - either at Inters or Open level.

Throughout their journey with the junior club, we want to inspire fun, fairness and a genuine passion for netball that will last a lifetime.
